• Hand-tied Tinsel: 2 to 8 weeks on average, but it depends on your hair's shedding cycle. Some pieces fall out in days; others last months. Thicker hair holds longer; fine, oily hair sheds sooner.

• Feather Extensions: Can last a few weeks to a couple months, depending on hair oiliness; oilier hair causes the bead to slip out sooner. Not recommended keeping them past 2 months, since the growing gap between scalp and bead makes brushing harder. If your feather falls out, save it! I can reinstall it for just $5.

• Gems and Rhinestones: A for-the-day look, perfect when your hair's up, and tinsel isn't an option. Take them off before going to bed and save the gems for crafts!

• Glitter Tattoos: 3 to 10 days through washing and showering.

For hand-tied tinsel and feather extensions, come with hair that's already showered, brushed, and blow dried if you can. This clears out strands already at the end of their shed cycle, so your install starts on stronger hair and lasts longer. Please avoid heavy products like mousse, gel, or creams, they make it harder to separate clean, single strands of hair.

• Gems and Rhinestones: A mix of loose charms and gems use an all-natural, agave-based accessory glue, while some rhinestones and letters have their own adhesive backing. Both wash off easily and are safe for all ages.

• Glitter Tattoos: Applied with a stencil and skin-safe body glue.

• Hand-tied Tinsel: Fall out naturally as your hair sheds. To remove sooner, simply snip the tinsel close to the knot with small scissors.

• Feather Extensions: Your hair's natural oils will eventually cause the bead to slip out on its own. If not, the bead is opened with pliers once grown out. Don't pull them out.

• Gems and Rhinestones: Peel letters and gems off slowly. For charms, spray a little water to loosen the glue first, then peel off.

• Glitter Tattoos: Fade naturally with washing over several days. To remove sooner, soak a cotton pad with rubbing alcohol or an oil (baby oil, olive oil, coconut oil), press onto the design for 1-2 minutes, then gently wipe away.

Yes! Applied with a skin-safe body glue that's non-toxic, hypoallergenic, latex-free, and dermatologist-tested for long-term skin contact. Along with cosmetic-grade glitter, it's applied topically with a stencil, no needles or ink involved, and safe for all ages. Sensitive skin? A quick patch test is always a good idea.

Yes, wash and shampoo as usual. Brush gently from the bottom up. Avoid conditioner directly on the roots, it can loosen the knot or bead.

Yes, tinsel and feathers are heat-safe up to 400°F. Just avoid direct heat on the knot or bead.

We use 100% Thai silk for our tinsel installs, so while we recommend coloring your hair beforehand, you're also welcome to dye over your tinsel if needed. Just note that, depending on the dye and how it's applied, it may slightly alter the tinsel's color; higher-quality dye and shorter processing times tend to be gentler on the tinsel. Feathers work a bit differently; dye and bleach can affect their color more noticeably, so we recommend getting your color done before your feather install.

Hand-tied tinsel will blend with curly hair if you finger-coil the tinsel with your hair and product to help it take shape. (Feathers won't naturally curl, but you can scrunch with product to soften the straight look.)
