Hi! :) My name is Adelaida, and I am the founder of Sparkle Mami (formerly Sparkle Strands LA)!

I discovered tinsel through a parent I used to work with, and I immediately became obsessed. I have naturally curly hair, but after bleaching and coloring it so much, my curls were fried and damaged. I finally made the big chop and decided to give my hair a break from dye.

After discovering tinsel, I found it was the perfect solution for colorful hair without the damage! If you know me, you know how much I love sparkly, cute things and my dog, Mushu (aka my Employee of the Month, every month).

I practiced installing it on myself, my dog, friends, and family for a couple of years. Thankfully, they were always willing to be my “sparkle experiments”. Finally, after a lot of back-and-forth, I decided to open my own small business offering hair tinsel installations in September of 2025.

Sparkle Strands is a Latina-owned, small business focused on making sparkle accessible and fun for everyone! Whether you want something subtle or a bold Christina Aguilera highlights kind of vibe, there is a style for you!

I offer hand-tied sparkle strands, bold sparkle clusters, and hair feather extensions. Every install is carefully and intentionally done to match your hair type and vibe. I am always very honest about the install methods and which would be best for your hair. I am a Capricorn- a perfectionist and detail-oriented gal if you will. ⋆˙⟡
